Deacon Field Hockey Holds Alumni Weekend

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Wake Forest field hockey team held its Alumni Weekend over April 24-25, and a number of former Demon Deacons came back to participate.
The weekend started with a match that pitted the current team against the alums on Saturday afternoon and then the rising seniors hosted a cookout Saturday evening. The alumni team was comprised of Lauren Love, Chelsea Cipriani, Maeke Boreel, Martha Ferger, Michelle Kasold, Lauren Crandall, Kristina Gagliardi, Haley Scott, Kristi Harshman, Kelly Wood and Brendan Bohen. The newest members of the class of 2009, Melissa Martin, Raisa Schiller, Aileen Davis, Kim Romansky, and Hilary Moore, also competed with the alums.
On Sunday, the current team then hosted a dodgeball tournament to raise money for Melanoma. The tournament was in honor of alumn Maria Whitehead who lost her life to Melanoma in 2006. The Wake Forest strength staff won the men's division and the field hockey alums won the women's division.
