Wake Forest Field Hockey Hosting 2011 Winter Clinics

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest Field Hockey program will be hosting clinics on February 20 and February 27 that are designed to help players work on various skills.
On February 20, the coaching staff will host their Hockey Fitness Clinic from 4:45 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.. This clinic is for field hockey players of all ages and is $30. The registration deadline is February 18.
The Shooting & Elimination Clinic is scheduled for February 27. From 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. will be for middle school players and from 10 a.m. - to 12 p.m. will be for high school players. The cost is $45, and the registration deadline is February 25.
To register for either camp, e-mail Roz Ellis at raellis02@gmail.com, and be sure to bring a completed waiver form to the clinic. Payments can be made with cash or check.
The Hockey Fitness Clinic is a two-hour clinic designed to teach athletes the proper technique of running and sprinting. The session will consist of speed work, agilities and going through a work out that will combine the learned technique and skills. The camp will teach players what they should be doing in the offseason and how to prepare for preseason. Campers will provided with a handout that will contain information on how to train yourself to become faster and more fit.
The Shooting & Elimination Clinic is a two-hour clinic for goalkeepers and field players. The purpose is to give athletes an opportunity to learn new elimination skills: how to beat a defender with speed, aerial dribbling and receiving techniques. These techniques will set you up to more successful on the field. With shooting, players will learn how to hit the ball harder, chip shots and reverse shots.
