Men's Tennis Wraps Up Day One at Elon Invite

ELON, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team split its four matches 2-2 on the first day of play at the Elon Invitational Friday.
The Demon Deacons got a singles victory from Conner Sherwood, who topped Kyle Hoffman of Georgia Southern 6-3, 7-6 (3) in the first round of the B1 Singles draw. In Wake Forest's lone doubles match of the day, David Hopkins and Amogh Prabhakar, the top seeds in the A1 Doubles draw, edged Matias Di Pasquale and Yusuke Kusuda of Coastal Carolina 8-6.
Hopkins and Prabhakar will take on a team from Campbell in the doubles semifinals tomorrow, and Sherwood will face USC-Upstate's Gonzalo Blanco in the quarterfinals of his singles draw. Hopkins and Prabhakar will both compete in the singles consolation after dropping their opening round singles matches.
