WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will look to open the season with three wins in a row, as the Demon Deacons host the North Carolina Central Eagles on Sunday evening. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Lawrence Joel Coliseum.
How to Catch the Game
• Wednesday's game will be streamed live online at ESPN3.com. Evan Lepler (play-by-play) and Randolph Childress (color) will call the action.
• The game can also be heard on the Wake Forest IMG College Sports Network and online at WakeForestSports.com. Voice of the Deacons Stan Cotten (play-by-play) and Mark Freidinger (color) have the call.
Last Time Out
• Wake Forest moved to 2-0 on the season with an 81-72 defeat of visiting Georgia Southern on Wednesday.
• Travis McKie and C.J. Harris continued to lead the Deacons, scoring 23 and 20 points respectively. McKie matched his career-high, while Harris posted his second consecutive 20-point scoring total.
• Freshman Chase Fischer turned in his first career double-figure scoring output with 13 points.
• Tony Chennault tallied 14 points, four assists and four steals.
• The Deacons, who struggled at the free throw line in the season opener, were stellar on charity tosses against GSU. Wake went 27-for-34 for 79.4 percent. The Deacons have been to the line 80 times in the first two games.
Meet the Eagles
• NC Central (1-2) is coming off an 87-83 loss at Wagner on Wednesday in Staten Island, N.Y. The Eagles' lone win of the year is a 115-41 defeat of Johnson & Wales in their home opener on Nov. 13.
• Head coach Levelle Moton, who played at NC Central from 1992-96, is in his third season at the helm of the Eagles. Moton was an assistant on the NCCU bench for the Eagles' previous two games at Wake Forest.
• Following Sunday's game against Wake Forest, NC Central will host Morris College on Wednesday in Durham.
Series History
• Wake Forest is 2-0 all-time against NC Central with wins coming during the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons.
• Wake Forest posted a 75-58 win on Nov. 19, 2007, and then a 94-48 victory on Nov. 14, 2008. The Deacons also defeated the then-Division II affiliated Eagles in an exhibition game prior to the 2006-07 season.
Next Up...
• Wake Forest will travel to Walt Disney World in Orlando to play in the Old Spice Classic over Thanksgiving week.
• The Deacons open the tournament against Dayton on Thursday and then will face either Arizona State or Fairfield on Friday. Possible third-round matchups for Sunday include DePaul, Indiana State, Minnesota or Texas Tech.
