WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will return from a week-long holiday break to close out the 2011 calendar year by hosting the Yale Bulldogs on Thursday evening.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Lawrence Joel Coliseum. The game will be the second in a doubleheader with the Wake Forest women's team, as it hosts Maryland-Eastern Shore at 2 p.m. on Thursday.

• Thursday's game can be heard on the Wake Forest IMG College Sports Network and online at WakeForestSports.com. Stan Cotten (play-by-play) and Mark Freidinger (color) have the call.

Last Time Out
• Wake Forest (8-4) is coming off an 87-78 win over UNC Wilmington on Dec. 21 in Winston-Salem. Six Deacons scored in double figures as Wake used a 12-0 run midway through the second half to pull away from the Seahawks.
• UNCW battled back from an 11-point deficit to take a 58-54 lead in the second half. However, Wake Forest used its run to reclaim the lead and post its third win in its past four games.
C.J. Harris finished one off his career-high with 23 points, while Carson Desrosiers posted his second double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Meet the Bulldogs
• Yale (8-2) is coming off a 10-day layoff after posting a 68-65 win at Rhode Island on Dec. 18. The Bulldogs have played just one game since Dec. 7.
• Thursday's game will be a homecoming for Yale junior guard Michael Grace, who is a native of Winston-Salem and played with current Deacons Brooks Godwin and C.J. Harris at Mount Tabor High School.

Series History
• Wake Forest holds a 5-1 lead in the all-time series with Yale. The series dates back to the third round of the 1958 Dixie Classic in Raleigh when the Deacons posted an 85-76 defeat of the Bulldogs.
• Wake Forest began its run to the 1962 Final Four with a 92-82 overtime defeat of Yale in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament in Philadelphia.
• Most recently, the Deacons posted a 99-72 defeat of the Bulldogs on Dec. 22, 2004. It marked the first-ever game Wake Forest played as the No. 1-ranked team in the country.

Next Up...
• Wake Forest will ring in the New Year and wrap up the non-conference portion of its schedule on Monday, Jan. 2, when the Deacons host Wofford at 7 p.m. Wake is 5-1 all-time against the Terriers, but the teams have not met since 1997.
• The Deacs will open ACC play on Saturday, Jan. 7, when they host Virginia Tech at noon. Wake Forest has lost five straight to the Hokies and trails in the all-time series, 28-26.
