1999

What does being a Demon Deacon mean to you?
Being a Demon Deacon means being proud of the people of Wake Forest and our athletic department. It means being a part of a special family of Wake Forest student-athletes and coaches who share a unique bond through our experiences in Winston-Salem.
Why are you still involved in Wake Forest Athletics?
I enjoy watching any Wake Forest sporting event on television, and I try to go to at least one field hockey game each year. I'm trying to get back to campus for our Field Hockey Alumni weekend this April.
Why do you feel it is important to give back to the University?
I have an amazing career now as a field hockey coach, and that wouldn't have been possible without being so motivated by Coach Jennifer Averill and without the opportunities I was given at Wake Forest. The education that I received as a field hockey player and as a student was really priceless. I am so thankful for my experiences both on and off the field and for the amazing people who I met at Wake Forest. I feel privileged that I was given a scholarship for playing field hockey and giving back a little each year is a small way that I can say thank you to Jennifer, Ron Wellman and our athletic department.
What is your current occupation?
Head field hockey coach at Temple University.
What is your favorite memory of your time at Wake Forest?
Laughing with friends and hanging out in Poteat.
What makes you most proud of Wake Forest?
Field hockey's tradition of winning with class.
When you come back to Wake Forest, you always...
go to Kentner Stadium, walk on the Quad, take pictures of Wait Chapel and smile when I see the toilet paper on the trees and think of all the memories from college.
I was there when...
Tim Duncan would hang out with all the other student-athletes during summer school sessions.
Who is your favorite coach at Wake Forest, current or past?
Jennifer Averill and Dave Odom.
