Martina Pavelec Earns Repeat All-ACC Honors

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Martina Pavelec has been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference women's tennis team for the second consecutive year, as announced by the conference office Thursday.
Pavelec is one of nine repeat honorees on the 19-member squad and is the 16th Demon Deacon to earn All-ACC honors in multiple seasons.
Pavelec has had a tremendous senior season for Wake Forest, occupying the No. 1 singles spot in every match she has played in this year. The Stuttgart, Germany native has risen as high as No. 24 in the ITA Singles Rankings, and is currently ranked No. 37. The senior has also found success in doubles, partnering with Emilee Malvehy to post an 11-4 record.
This season, Pavelec has scored nine victories over ranked opponents, highlighted by top-20 wins against fellow All-ACC honoree No. 14 Zoe De Bruycker (North Carolina) and Nazari Urbina (Texas A&M). In conference play, she also scored wins over the top singles players from Duke, Georgia Tech and Boston College.
Pavelec went over two weeks without losing a singles or doubles match in March, stringing together a 13-match combined winning streak to lead the Demon Deacons to a 4-2 team record in that span.
