Jones and Irving Lead Wake Forest at Pre-Nationals

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Sophomore Samantha Jones and senior Nicole Irving paced the Demon Deacons at the Pre-National Meet, as Wake Forest finished 35th overall on Saturday morning.
Jones led the Deacons, finishing in 75th with a time of 21:17.21. Irving, a two-time all regional performer, made her season debut for the Deacons. Irving came in 160th with a time of 21:50.32.
Junior Kaitlyn Oliver finished in 185th with a time of 21:58.74, while teammate Kathleen Darling finished behind her in 209th with a time of 22:07.39.
Junior Aubrey Waggoner rounded out the Deacons' scoring five, finishing in 229th with a time of 21:13.50.
The Deacons finished with 857 points finishing 35th out of 49 teams on the 6k course, which will be the site of the 2013 NCAA Championships.
Wake Forest will focus on a two-week training segment prior to hosting the ACC Championships on Friday, Nov. 1 at Beeson Park in Kernersville.
