
Deacs Set to Host No. 23 GT, No. 13 Clemson

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will close out the regular season this weekend as the Deacs host No. 23 Georgia Tech on Saturday and No. 13 Clemson on Sunday. Both matches will begin at 12:00 p.m. on the Leighton Courts at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
The Demon Deacons (3-16, 2-7 ACC) will be seeking their first victory over the Yellow Jackets (11-8, 5-4 ACC) since the 2010 season, while the Tigers (12-6, 7-2 ACC) have proven to be a feistier foe, taking 12 straight against Wake Forest dating back to 2002.
Sunday will also mark Senior Day for the Deacs. Prior to the match against Clemson, the squad's two seniors, Catherine Roach and Kathryn Talbert, will be recognized for their contributions to the team throughout their careers in a short ceremony.
Last Time Out
Wake Forest split its decisions last weekend with a 4-3 victory over Maryland on Saturday before falling 5-2 against No. 61 Boston College on Sunday.
The Demon Deacons took four of the six singles matches to clinch the match against the Terrapins.
Karen Forman put on a show against BC's Heini Salonen, saving three match points before rallying to win the third set and the match 2-6, 7-6 (6), 6-2.

This Weekend's Opponents
Both Georgia Tech and Clemson are ranked in the top 25 in the latest ITA rankings.
The Yellow Jackets boast two singles players in the top 100, Elizabeth Kilborn (No. 86) and Kendal Woodard (No. 98).
Clemson also has an impressive singles lineup, with Yana Koroleva (No. 18), Liz Jeukeng (No. 27) and Beatrice Gumulya (No. 35).
Top Wake Forest Storylines
Kathryn Talbert remained in the ITA singles rankings this week at No. 99.
Forman's three-set victory on Sunday was the 10th of her career.
Kasey Gardiner and Andrea Retolaza picked up their first career ACC victories this past weekend as well.
Catherine Roach saw action in her third ACC match of the season against Boston College, playing at the No. 6 singles spot.
Next Up
Wake Forest will return to action next Thursday in the first round of the 2013 ACC Women's Tennis Championships in Cary, N.C. Both the opponents and the start times will be announced on Sunday evening.
