WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will open play at the 2013 ACC Women's Tennis Championship on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. as the Demon Deacons face No. 30 Florida State in the opening round at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.

The Deacs (3-18, 2-9 ACC) earned the No. 10 seed in the tournament, while the Seminoles (13-8, 5-5 ACC) are seeded seventh. Florida State claimed the regular season meeting between the schools with a 6-1 victory in Tallahassee, Fla., on Mar. 28.

Live stats for Thursday's matchup can be found after the match has gotten underway.

2013 All-ACC honoree Kathryn Talbert has starred for Wake Forest this season, including notching the lone point against the Seminoles in their first meeting. The Mooresville, N.C., native downed Daneika Borthwick at No. 1 singles in a grueling three-set match, emerging with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory.

Another member of the Deacs that has caught fire late in the season is Brigita Bercyte, who generally holds the No. 6 singles spot. The junior has picked up wins in three of her last four matches and has a 3-3 record in ACC play this season. Her biggest win of the year came against Maryland's Gabriela Srodowski on Apr. 13, when Bercyte rallied from a set down to lay claim to an 0-6, 6-0, 6-4 triumph.

History has been kind to the Demon Deacons in ACC Tournament matchups against the Seminoles. The Deacs hold a 6-2 all-time advantage in the postseason, but Florida State has won two of the last three matchups in 2004 and 2011. Wake Forest's last victory against the Seminoles in the tournament came on Apr. 20, 2006, when the squad rallied after dropping the doubles point to earn a 4-1 win.

The winner of Thursday's match will advance to face No. 11 Clemson, who earned the tournament's No. 2 seed. The quarterfinal matchup will take place on Friday afternoon at 12:00 p.m.

Tickets for the entire tournament are $14 for adults and $10 for youths and students, while single-day passes are $7 for adults and $5 for youths and students. Children age 8 and under will be admitted free.
