
Talbert Earns All-ACC Women's Tennis Honors

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest senior Kathryn Talbert has been named to the 2013 All-ACC Women's Tennis Team as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
Talbert has been a standout for the Demon Deacons this season, competing at both No. 1 singles and doubles. She has been stellar in singles play throughout the season, defeating four ranked opponents, including a pair in ACC play. Talbert jumped to a new career-high singles ranking of No. 82 in the ITA rankings that were released on Apr. 9 and currently sits at No. 101 in the latest edition of the rankings.
The Mooresville, N.C., native also crossed the 100-win mark in the old gold and black with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory over then-No. 31 Daneika Borthwick of Florida State on Mar. 28. In her four-year career, Talbert has posted a 43-38 record in singles while going 60-36 in doubles, starring during her junior season after pairing with former Deacon Kayla Duncan. The duo reached a career-high of No. 7 in the national rankings on Sept. 9, 2011.
Talbert and the rest of the Demon Deacons will be in action at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday as they face No. 30 Florida State in the first round of the 2013 ACC Women's Tennis Championships in Cary, N.C.
