GREENSBORO, N.C. - Junior Anna Kozniuk was named to the Preseason All-ACC Team as announced by the conference office on Thursday. Wake Forest was also picked fifth in the annual preseason ACC coaches' poll, garnering 15 points.
Kozniuk was selected for the second-straight season on the Preseason All-ACC Team after finishing the 2012 season with All-ACC honors and earning Third-Team All-America recognition.
Last season she earned 19 points with five goals and nine assists while playing in all 20 games for the Demon Deacons.
Wake Forest finished the season in 2012 with a 9-11 overall record and ended the year ranked No. 23. After defeating Boston College in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament, the Deacs fell to No.1 North Carolina in the semifinal round.
North Carolina was picked to win the ACC by the coaches, gathering 36 votes. Maryland followed in second with 31 points. Duke was picked third followed by ACC-newcomer Syracuse in fourth. Virginia and Boston College were chosen sixth and seventh, respectively.
The Deacs open up the 2013 season on Aug. 30 against Miami (OH) at Kentner Stadium with the game beginning at 7 p.m.
