Deacons Continue Strong Play at Duke Fab Four

CARY, N.C. - Romain Bogaerts and Anthony Delcore took second place in their doubles flights and Bogaerts booked a spot in the finals of his singles flight as the Wake Forest men's tennis team continued play at the Duke Fab Four Invitational Saturday at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
No. 5 Bogaerts advanced to the semifinals when his opponent, Louisville's Van Damrongsi, retired in the final set and then secured a place in tomorrow's final with a quick 6-3, 6-1 win over No. 96 Austin Powell of NC State. He will face Duke's Bruno Semenzato for the Blue Singles title tomorrow.
Delcore also notched an impressive singles win Saturday, defeating Duke's 49th-ranked Raphael Hemmeler 7-6 (4), 6-4 in the Blue Singles quarterfinals before bowing out to Semenzato in the semis.
Bogaerts and Delcore took second place in their first tournament together as a doubles team, falling to North Carolina's Oystein Steiro and Nelson Vick in the Blue Doubles final.
The Deacons' other doubles team of Nicky Kunz and Nicholas Osterling took third place in the White Doubles flight, defeating Powell and Beck Bond of NC State.
Play at the tournament will wrap up tomorrow.
