Wake Forest Storylines
Wake Forest has won 13 straight games at the Joel Coliseum, dating back to last year's season finale. It marks the Deacs' longest home winning streak since winning 16 straight at the Joel between 2007 and 2008.
The Deacons feature the ACC's leading rebounder in Devin Thomas, who pulls down 8.5 boards per game. Thomas also leads the ACC in field goal percentage in conference games at 64.8 percent (35-of-54).
Codi Miller-McIntyre has been one of the best guards in the ACC this season. The sophomore is the only player to rank in the top 10 in the ACC in each scoring (9th), assists (9th) and field goal percentage (8th). He also ranks ninth in assist-to-turnover ratio.
Series History
The Deacons and Orange have met once previously in the 2001-02 Preseason NIT championship game, which Syracuse won 74-67 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Wake Forest sophomore Tyler Cavanaugh and Syracuse sophomore DaJuan Coleman were high school teammates at Jamesville-Dewitt High, where they won three state championships together. Cavanaugh finished runner-up to Coleman for the title of "Mr. Basketball" in New York.
Next Up...
Wake Forest will host Georgia Tech on Saturday to wrap up a three-game homestand. This will mark the first year since Georgia Tech joined the ACC in 1979 that the two rivals will play just once during the regular season.
Following the Georgia Tech game, the Deacons will begin a stretch that sees them play four out of five games on the road beginning with Duke on Feb. 4 in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
