Wake Forest will wrap up its three-game homestand by hosting Georgia Tech for the teams' only scheduled meeting this season on Saturday in Winston-Salem.
Tip-off is scheduled for noon at the LJVM Coliseum. The game will be broadcast on the ACC's regional sports networks and online on ESPN3. It can also be heard on the Wake Forest IMG Sports Network.
Last Time Out
Wake Forest is coming off a 67-57 setback to No. 2-ranked Syracuse on Wednesday in Winston-Salem. The loss was the Deacons' first at home this season and snapped the team's 13-game winning streak at the venue.
The Deacons cut the deficit to three midway through the second half but could not convert on multiple attempts to tie the game. Wake Forest finished 3-for-20 from 3-point range.
Travis McKie led the Deacons with 12 points and six rebounds, while Devin Thomas also had 12 points and three assists.
Arnaud William Adala Moto finished with nine points on 4-of-5 shooting to go with five rebounds. He also turned in his second highlight-reel dunk in as many weeks.
Wake Forest committed just eight turnovers on the night, its lowest total since mid-November.
Both teams struggled offensively with Wake Forest shooting 34 percent and Syracuse 36 percent. The Orange held a sizable advantage on the glass, outrebounding the Deacons 55-35.
Wake Forest Storylines
Wake Forest has suffered back-to-back losses just once this season when it fell at Virginia and at Pittsburgh in early January. The Deacons are trying to avoid their first consecutive home losses since February 2012.
Coron Williams has not committed a turnover in eight ACC games over a total of 192 minutes. Williams' last turnover came on Dec. 28 at Xavier.
Travis McKie is the reigning ACC Player of the Week after averaging 19 points in wins over Virginia Tech and Notre Dame last week.
Wake Forest leads the ACC in free throw rate (48.1) and is averaging 27 free throw attempts per game. The Deacons are scoring 17 points per game at the line on the season.
Series History
Georgia Tech leads the all-time series with Wake Forest 38-37. The Yellow Jackets took the series lead after sweeping two meetings with the Demon Deacons last season.
The Deacons and Jackets are scheduled to meet just once this year, marking the first time that the two rivals will not play twice in the regular season since Georgia Tech joined the ACC in 1979.
Next Up...
Wake Forest will will begin a stretch that sees the Deacons play four out of five games on the road beginning with Duke on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 9 p.m. in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
The Deacons will enjoy a bye weekend following the Duke game before returning to the court on Tuesday, Feb. 11, for a 7 p.m. game at NC State.
Wake Forest is back at the LJVM Coliseum on Saturday, Feb. 15, when the Deacons host Florida State at 8 p.m.
