
Wake Forest Finishes 11th at ACC Championships

EARLYSVILLE, Va. - Wake Forest finished 11th at the 2014 ACC Championships on Friday morning at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Virginia. Junior Kent Garrett led the Demon Deacons, finishing the 8k course in 24:42.0 for 52nd place.
Senior Connor Crowley was four spots and two seconds behind Garrett in 56th in 24:44.7. Fellow senior Alexander Rose took 59th in 24:47.3
Sophomore Jacob Poyner finished in 24:56.0 for 67th place, while senior Kyle Graves rounded out the Deacons' scoring five in 82nd in 25:14.5.
Syracuse won its second consecutive ACC title on the men's side, finishing with only 32 team points to easily beat second-place NC State who had 90 points. The Orange had five of the top 11 finishers, led by Martin Hehir who set a course record with a time of 23:15.2.
Wake Forest returns to action in two weeks at the NCAA Southeast Regional on Friday, Nov. 14, in Louisville, Kentucky.
