
Deacons' Hot Shooting Fuels 83-49 Win

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest was lights out from the floor, posting a dominant 83-49 victory over Mount St. Mary's inside the LJVM Coliseum on Wednesday night.
The Demon Deacons (4-2) were led by Codi Miller-McIntyre, who filled the stat sheet with 11 points, eight rebounds and a season-high seven assists.
A total of 15 Deacons scored, as Wake Forest made more than half of its shots from the floor (30-of-56 - 53.6 percent) and from beyond the arc (8-of-14 - 57.1 percent).
Wake Forest also limited the Mountaineers (1-3), a 2014 NCAA Tournament team, to just 35.3 percent shooting.
Cornelius Hudson and Konstantinos Mitoglou scored five points apiece during an early 13-0 spurt as the Deacons took a 20-6 advantage and never looked back.
Another 17-2 run for Wake Forest pushed the advantage to a commanding 44-14 late in the first half.
After taking a 44-20 lead into the break, the Deacons pushed their lead to as many as 41 points, cruising to their second home victory this week.
Hudson finished with 10 points and four boards, while Mitchell Wilbekin (eight), Devin Thomas (six), Darius Leonard (six), Madison Jones (six), Greg McClinton (six), Rondale Watson (six), Mitoglou (five), Andre Washington (five) and Grant O'Brien (five) all scored at least five points.
Thomas was second on the team with six rebounds, while Jones dished out four assists.
Wake Forest finished with twice as many assists (18) as turnovers (nine).
HEATING UP
.Heading into the game, the Demon Deacons were shooting 26.6 percent from beyond the arc. In the win over the Mountaineers, Wake Forest hit 8-of-14, a season-best 57.1 percent.
Mitchell Wilbekin, Rondale Watson, Cornelius Hudson and Grant O'Brien combined to make 7-of-8 attempts from deep.
MILLER-MCINTYRE'S STRONG GAME
Junior Codi Miller-McIntyre posted at least 10 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for the first time in his career.
SUFFOCATING DEFENSE
.After conceding just 48 points to Nicholls on Monday, Wake Forest allowed 49 points to Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday.
.Wake Forest had not limited an opponent to less than 50 points in back-to-back games since doing so three consecutive times in the 2005-06 season. That year, the Deacons beat Charleston Southern 87-47, topped Richmond 47-40 and knocked off Princeton 61-42.

Wake Forest plays its third game of the week on Friday, welcoming Delaware State to the LJVM Coliseum for a 7 p.m. game.
