PALOS VERDES, Calif. - Wake Forest carded a second round 301 at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge on Monday and remains in a tie for eighth heading into the final round.

The Demon Deacons opened the tournament with a round of 295 and are now 28-over par through 36 holes. That has them in a tie with Oklahoma. Southern Cal posted a 5-under 279 on Monday and opened-up a remarkable 14-shot lead over fellow Pac 12 foe UCLA.

For the Deacons, junior Allison Emrey led the way on Monday with a 1-over 72. She made a total of four birdies on the day, including three on the opening nine. She is 7-over par through the first two rounds.

Redshirt-freshman Elizabeth Doty, who is playing as an individual, also carded a second round 72. After making 16 pars in yesterday's round of 74, she made just seven pars on Monday but countered with five birdies and six bogeys.

Sophomore Mariana Sims followed her opening round 71 with a 4-over 75 on Monday and is one of three Deacons in the top-20 headed into the final round. She is tied for 17th with Doty at 4-over par.

Sims' sister Sierra started the tournament with a career-low 69 and would post a 5-over 76 in round two. She is the low-Deacons through 36 holes at 3-over par and tied for 13th.

Junior Marissa Dodd had an up-and-down second round of 7-over 78. She made a total of five birdies in the round but just three pars. That was her second-straight round of 78 and she is tied for 68th. Senior Olafia Kristinsdottir is three shots behind Dodd at 17-over par after a second round 81.

The final round is set to begin with an 11:30 a.m. ET shotgun start. Golfstat.com will have live scoring of the final 18 holes.
