Deacs to Compete in Virginia Tech Challenge

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest track and field teams will head to Blacksburg for the final competition of the indoor season. This will be the third and final meet the Deacons will race in Blacksburg, Va. during the regular indoor season.
Representing the Demon Deacons at the Virginia Tech Challenge in the 60m and 200m dash will be senior Mytoia Gathings.
Competing for the Deacs in the women's 60m hurdles will be the trio of senior Erika Martin,freshman Hunter Roberts and freshman Alyssa Thompson. Sophomore Alex Krall will compete for the men.
In the 600m run will be sophomore Kendal Knous and senior Thomas Bojanowski.
Junior Kyle Graves will race in the 1,000m for the first time this season coming off strong finishes in the UCS Invitational last weekend in Winston-Salem.
In the high jump will be junior Nyki Caldwell who secured a second place finish at the UCS Invitational last weekend with a mark of 1.70m. Also competing will be sophomore Michael Rufrano.
Vaulting for the Deacs are sophomore Katie Adair, Sydney White, Alex Krall and Michael Cyphers.
Competing in the long jump are senior Erika Martin, freshman Alyssa Thompson, Alex Krall and Michael Mastanduno.
In the weight throw will be freshman Casidy Callahan representing the women and Nate Wooten, Teddy Mottola and Kyle Johnson throwing for the men.
Next weekend the Deacs head to Clemson, S.C. for the ACC Indoor Championships on Feb. 27-March 1.
