Following Wednesday's 81-69 win over Notre Dame, Wake Forest has advanced to the second round of the 2014 ACC Tournament and will take on No. 5-seeded Pittsburgh on Thursday afternoon.
Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN and on the ACC Network and streamed online on WatchESPN. It can also be heard on the Wake Forest IMG Sports Network.
Last Time Out
Wake Forest is coming off an 81-69 win over Notre Dame in the opening round of the ACC Tournament on Wednesday. Coron Williams scored a season-high 25 points, and Devin Thomas had a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Deacons.
Williams went 7-for-8 from the field and 4-of-5 from beyond the arc to post his highest-scoring output in a Demon Deacon uniform.
Thomas turned in his sixth double-double of the year and also tied his career-high with five assists.
Wake Forest shot a season-best 61 percent from the field, including a 7-for-10 mark from 3-point range.
Wake Forest Storylines
Coron Williams is 13-for-21 (61.9%) from 3-point range over the past four games and has scored in double figures in each contest. He has scored in double figures in six of the past eight games.
Codi Miller-McIntyre has 28 assists against seven turnovers over the past five games, giving him an assist-to-turnover ratio of 4.00.
Wake Forest has four players averaging in double figures: Miller-McIntyre (12.7 ppg), Thomas (11.2), McKie (11.0) and Williams (10.0). The Deacons have five players with at least one 20-point performance this season.
Series History
In the teams' first-ever meeting on the hardwood, Pittsburgh earned an 80-65 defeat of Wake Forest on Jan. 11 at the Petersen Events Center.
Devin Thomas finished just shy of a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds (five offensive), going 8-for-11 from the field in the loss.
Codi Miller-McIntyre and Coron Williams added 10 points apiece. Miller-McIntyre led the team with four assists, and Madison Jones had three.
ACC Tournament History
Following Wednesday's win over Notre Dame, Wake Forest is 43-56 all-time at the ACC Tournament, including a 17-22 mark in Greensboro.
The Deacons moved to 2-0 against teams playing in their first-ever ACC Tournament. Wake Forest beat South Carolina in the opening round of the inaugural tournament in 1954 in Raleigh.
Next Up...
The winner of Thursday's game will face No. 4 seed North Carolina on Friday at 2 p.m. The Deacons downed the Tar Heels 73-67 on Jan. 5 in Winston-Salem before suffering a 105-72 setback on Feb. 22 in Chapel Hill.
The Deacons and Tar Heels have not met in the ACC Tournament since Wake Forest came away with a 58-52 win over North Carolina in the 2000 event in Charlotte.
