Deacs Open Outdoor Season at CCU Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest track and will kick off the outdoor season at the CCU Invitational Friday and Saturday in Conway, S. C. at Coastal Carolina University.
Friday events
Competing for the Deacs in the hammer throw will be senior Nate Wooten, and freshmen Kyle Johnson, Charlie Ionata and Casidy Callahan.
In the javelin for the women are Amy Collins, Alyssa Thompson and Erika Martin. Competing for the men will be Alexander Krall, Aiden McConnell and Charlie Ionata.
Vaulting for the Deacs will be the trio of Sydney White, Katie Adair and Madison Bragg.
Saturday events
Racing in the 800m are Kendal Knous, Tessa Riley, Marie Johnston, Natalie Sukramani and Ryan Horgan.
In the 3,000m run will be Chandler Borton, Kyle Graves, Tom Finneran and Billy Fayette.
Competing in the 1,500 are Thomas Bojanowski, Kyle Eager, Alex Giacco, Kathleen Darling and Ellie Abrahamson.
Hunter Roberts will hurdle for the Deacs in the 100m hurdle event.
Mytoia Gathings, Kendal Knous, Daniel Harrison and Brady Wilson will represent the Deacons in the 400m run.
The Demon Deacons will enter one "A" relay team in the men's 4 x 400 comprised of Brady Wilson, Kyle Eager, Daniel Harrison and Thomas Bojanowski.
Kyle Johnson and Malcolm Nunley will compete in the 400m hurdles.
Throwing discus for Wake Forest are Steve Michaelsen and Casidy Callahan.
Amy Collins, Niki Caldwell, Alyssa Thompson and Erika Martin will compete in the high jump.
A recap of event performances will be posted on WakeForestSports.com each evening following the competitions. Next weekend, Wake Forest track and field will host the Wake Forest Open at Kentner Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C.
