ATHENS, Ga. - Wake Forest sophomore Romain Bogaerts will square off against Illinois' Farris Gosea Wednesday in the first round of the NCAA Singles Championship in Athens, Ga.
Bogaerts, who is ranked 29th nationally, will match up against the 18th-ranked Gosea at 11 a.m. at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex. Live scoring and video will be available on GeorgiaDogs.com.
Wake Forest's top singles player all year, Bogaerts is the first Demon Deacon to compete in the tournament since 2010. He also competed as a freshman at Mississippi State last season but was upset in the first round.
Bogaerts and Gosea have never met in a collegiate match. The Illinois junior has a 36-9 singles record this year including an impressive 10-2 mark against ranked opponents.
