Kozniuk and Holland Named Preseason All-ACC

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senior Anna Kozniuk and graduate student Georgia Holland have been named to the Preseason All-ACC Team as announced by the conference office this afternoon. Wake Forest was also picked fifth in the annual preseason ACC coaches' poll, garnering 16 points.
Kozniuk was selected for the third-straight season on the Preseason All-ACC Team after finishing the 2012 and 2013 seasons with All-ACC honors and earning Second-Team All-America recognition last season.
Last season she earned 24 points with nine goals and six assists while playing in all 21 games for the Demon Deacons.
Holland, a graduate student that transferred from Yale University, earns her first-career preseason All-ACC selection. While playing for the Bulldogs, she earned unanimous First Team All-Ivy League accolades following the 2011 and 2013 seasons and was the Ivy League Co-Rookie of the Year in 2010. She was also named to the NFHCA Second Team All-Mideast Region and the ECAC Division I First Team in 2013.
In 2013, Holland had 20 points with eight goals four assists while playing in all 17 matches for the Bulldogs.
Wake Forest finished the 2013 season with a 12-9 overall record and ended the year ranked No. 13. After falling to No. 3 North Carolina in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament, the Deacs defeated Old Dominion in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and then fell to the Tar Heels in the quarterfinal round.
North Carolina was picked to win the ACC by the coaches, gathering 31 votes. Duke followed in second with 30 points. Syracuse was picked third followed by Boston College in fourth. Virginia and ACC-newcomer Louisville were chosen sixth and seventh, respectively.
The Deacs open up the 2014 season on Aug. 30 against Iowa at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in Chapel Hill, N.C. with the game beginning at 2 p.m.
