Deacs Advancing Deep in ITA Carolina Regionals

CARY, N.C. – Two members of the Wake Forest men's tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the main singles draw at the ITA Carolina Regionals at Cary Tennis Park on Sunday after picking up to more victories apiece on Sunday.
Third-seeded Jon Ho and sixth-seeded Skander Mansouri each will battle Monday for a spot in Tuesday's finals, as Ho defeated Adrian Chamdani of Duke 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-4 and fifth-seeded Robert Kelly of North Carolina by the score of 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 to reach the semis. Mansouri defeated fellow Wake Forest teammate Keivon Tabrizi 6-2, 6-3 before making quick work of No 4-seed Jack Murray of North Carolina 6-5, 6-1, to stay alive in the tournament.
No. 11-seed Christian Seraphim saw his run at Cary Tennis Park end in the Round of 16 with a 6-1, 6-2 loss to Harison O'Keefe of South Carolina.
In third-round doubles action, top-seeded Seraphim and Mansouri topped Will Albright and Warren Bryan of UNCG 6-1, 6-3 to move to Monday's quarterfinals while No. 8-seeded Romain Bogaerts and Maksim Kan topped Pedro Leme and Rick Timmerman of Coastal Carolina 6-1, 6-4 to reach the quarters. South Carolina's Yancy Dennis and Sam Swank advanced past No. 5-8-seed Ho and Tabrizi via walkover.
Semifinal singles action in the tournament is on the docket for Monday, as well as two rounds of doubles. At the conclusion of the day Monday, the only remaining matches in the tournament will be the singles and doubles championships.
