GREENSBORO, N.C. - Christian Seraphim was named the ACC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday evening.
Seraphim helped the Demon Deacons finish 3-0 over the weekend, defeating a pair of top-25 opponents in No. 20 Tennessee and No. 23 South Carolina.
He finished the week with a perfect 5-0 record between singles and doubles. Teaming with Skander Mansouri, he upset a pair of nationally-ranked duos, including Tennessee's second-ranked pairing of Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese.
After dropping his first singles set against Tennessee, he battled back to win the next two sets and clinched the match victory for Wake Forest.
Seraphim is tied for the team lead with 16 singles wins. He and Mansouri just entered the national doubles rankings as the No. 50 pairing.
He becomes the first Deacon to receive the honor in more than two years. Amogh Prabhakar was the last to do so in January of 2013.
