WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball team lost to Pitt 65-41 on Sunday at the LJVM Coliseum. Senior Millesa Calicott led the team with a season-high 12 points.

Calicott made her fourth start of the season and led the team with 12 points. It is the first time in her career she has led the team in scoring in a game. She also had two assists, two rebounds, one block and one steal.

Dearica Hamby finished with eight points and 10 rebounds in the game. Kandice Ball and Milan Quinn each chipped in seven rebounds. The Demon Deacons won the rebounding battle 41-38 in the game.

Pittsburgh's Brianna Keisel led all scorers with 22 points and Yacine Diop recorded 12 points and eight rebounds.

The Demon Deacons struggled to establish any sort of offensive rhythm in the game allowing Pitt to open up a 15-point lead in the first 10 minutes. Wake Forest went nine minutes without a field goal and the Panthers led 22-5 with 8:30 remaining in the opening half. Ataijah Taylor scored on a layup to end the draught and begin a 7-2 run for the Deacs. Pitt held a 24-12 lead with 4:12 to play in the first half and finished the period on a 12-3 run to lead Wake Forest 36-15 at halftime.

After shooting just 14 percent in the first half the Demon Deacons were able to improve to 39 percent shooting in the second half but couldn't overcome the 20-point deficit, falling 65-41.

NOTES:
• Wake Forest's 41 points are the lowest output of the season. The Demon Deacons previous season-low was 53 at Duke on Feb. 5.
Millesa Calicott led the team with a season-high 12 points. It is the first time in her career she has led the team in scoring.
Dearica Hamby finished the game with eight points and 10 rebounds.
Milan Quinn and Kandice Ball each grabbed seven rebounds to help Wake Forest win the rebounding battle 41-38.
