Wake Forest Continues Home Stretch >>
Wake Forest plays four home games against Towson and Marshall, looking to improve above .500 again.
The Demon Deacons will look to end nonconference weekend action on a winning note, as ACC play begins next weekend.
National Pig Day >>
Wake Forest students are welcome to participate in our pig cook-off during the Sunday doubleheader. We will see who can create the best pig related dish. To register your group, email sharpej@wfu.edu.
Always On Base >>
Wake Forest has four starters currently getting on base in more than 40 percent of their plate appearances, including three with on-base percentages of better than .500.
The team leader in hits, runs and RBIs, Will Craig is also leading in OBP at .600. Craig has walked nine times and is hitting .462.
Freshman Stuart Fairchild is right behind at .593, and has also totaled an ACC-leading four stolen bases.
Jonathan Pryor has a hit in all seven games he has played. He's hitting a team-best .476, getting on base at a .542 clip.
Catcher Ben Breazeale has a .424 OBP, also maintaining a .345 batting average and six RBIs, second-most on the team.
Earning His Spot >>
Heading into the season, head coach Tom Walter said that Jonathan Pryor "has been making great strides in becoming an everyday player for us." Pryor has done his part to prove Walter right.
After recording just five hits in his freshman season a year ago, Pryor has already doubled that total.
In seven games, Pryor is hitting a team-best .476 with his first-career home run and a pair of stolen bases, breaking into the team's regular lineup.
Series History >>
Wake Forest holds a 7-3 advantage against Towson in the all-time series which dates back to 1975.
The Tigers claimed the most recent meeting by a 9-6 margin during the 2011 campaign.
Wake Forest leads Marshall, 10-1 in all-time the series, which began in 1960.
The Demon Deacons won the first 10 games in the series before Marshall won the second game of a doubleheader last year.
