Wake Forest Plays Host To UConn >>
The Demon Deacons return home to begin a four-game homestand by taking on Connecticut on Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
The Huskies enter the game with a 10-6 record and are on a four-game winning streak, defeating Michigan State, Furman and USC Upstate at the BB&T College Baseball Series.
Bombs Away >>
After hitting six homers through the first 13 games, Wake Forest has hit 20 bombs in the last eight games.
The Demon Deacons matched the program record for home runs in a game in back-to-back contests, hitting six against Virginia Tech on March 8, then blasting six more at Elon two days later.
Eleven different Demon Deacons have hit at least one home run. Only 65 Division I programs have more than 11 total homers.
With 10 combined homers, Will Craig and Nate Mondou alone are out-homering ACC teams Clemson (nine), Louisville (nine), North Carolina (nine), Notre Dame (seven), Boston College (six) and Duke (one).
The Demon Deacons swiped nine bags in the series, including a season-high seven on Friday.
Last Time Out >>
Wake Forest took the opener against top-25 Florida State, 4-1, but the Seminoles claimed the games on Saturday and Sunday.
Matt Pirro and Parker Dunshee combined to four-hit Florida State on Friday, allowing just one sixth inning run. The Seminoles left the potential tying run on base or at the plate in each of the last four innings.
Ben Breazeale homered on Saturday, and Will Craig and Bruce Steel each went deep on Sunday.
Series History >>
Wake Forest holds a slight edge in the all-time series, 6-4.
The teams haven't met since a three-game series in 1995. The Demon Deacons won two out of three.
All 10 meetings in the series have taken place in Winston-Salem.
On Deck >>
Wake Forest remains in Winston-Salem for a three-game ACC series this weekend, playing host to the Miami Hurricanes, a consensus top-25 team, Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. All three games will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
