Deacons Drop Regular Season Finale 79-61 to Eagles

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Wake Forest Demon Deacons dropped its regular season finale to the Boston College Eagles 79-61 on Saturday afternoon at Conte Forum.
Wake Forest (13-18, 5-13 ACC) is locked in as the No. 11-seed in next week's ACC Tournament and Boston College (12-18, 4-14 ACC) will be the No. 12-seed.
Codi Miller-McIntyre led the way with a game-high 24 points for the Deacons. Konstantinos Mitoglou was the other in double-figures with 10 points and Devin Thomas scored eight points and recorded team-highs in rebounds (7) and assists (4). Madison Jones and Darius Leonard added five points each off the bench for the Demon Deacons and Jones also grabbed six rebounds.
Wake Forest held a slim 10-9 lead after the first media timeout, but the Eagles went on a 15-9 run capped off by Olivier Hanlan's layup to give Boston College a 24-19 with 7:18 left in the half. The Deacons came back to tie the game 26-26 after a Darius Leonard 3-pointer with 4:19 on the clock.
The Eagles then built their largest lead of the half 38-28 before Mitoglou hit a layup with 58 seconds left to leave the Boston College with a 38-30 halftime lead. Miller-McIntyre led the way with eight points in the half and Aaron Rountree III tallied three assists.
Boston College started the second half with consecutive layups to take a 12-point lead 42-30 at the 19:18 mark. The Eagles continued to hold a double-digit lead, stretched it to a 20-point lead 73-53 with 4:44 left in the game, and didn't look back defeating the Deacons 79-61.
MILLER-MCINTYRE'S STRONG FINISH
Miller-McIntyre scored over 20 points for the eighth time this season and for the 18th time in his career.
It's the second straight game with at least 20 points for Miller-McIntyre as he scored 20 at No. 4 Duke on Wednesday.

Wake Forest is the No. 11 seed in the ACC Tournament and will face the No. 14-seed Virginia Tech in the first round on Tuesday, March 10, at 3 p.m. on ESPN2.
The winner will face the No. 6-seed Miami on Wednesday, March 11, at 9 p.m., followed by the No. 3 seed in the quarterfinals.
