WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - With the 2015 season concluded, several Demon Deacons are underway in their summer baseball seasons.
Will Craig and Nate Mondou highlight the list, serving as alternates for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.
If needed, the duo would compete in an international friendship series against Chinese Taipei and participate in the Americas Baseball Festival against the Canadian, Cuban and USA Baseball Pan American Games teams. That schedule runs from June 20 to July 8 and is based out of the National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
Should either of them make the roster, they would be the first Demon Deacon to do so since Kyle Sleeth was a member in 2002. Sleeth went 7-1 with a 1.44 ERA in a team-high four starts with Team USA.
In the meantime, Craig and Mondou have joined teammate Parker Dunshee in the Cape Cod League.
Wake Forest is also represented in the Northwoods League, Cal Ripken League, Coastal Plains League, Perfect Game League, Valley League and Southern Collegiate Baseball League.
