Deacs Open Season at ACC/Big Ten Challenge
• Wake Forest opens the 2015 season at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge hosted by Michigan at Ockler Field.
• The Demon Deacons will face No. 17 Iowa on Saturday and No. 14 Michigan on Sunday.
• Wake Forest leads the all-time series with Iowa 9-6 but Iowa has won the last four meetings.
• Wake Forest has a 17-3 advantage in the all-time series with Michigan. The Deacs have won the last three contests including a 3-2 overtime victory last season.
Wake Forest in the ACC Preseason Poll
• The Wake Forest field hockey team was picked to finish fifth in the ACC Preseason Poll for the second consecutive season.
• Junior Emily Conroe was named to the Preseason All-ACC Team. In 2014 she started all 21 matches and scored three goals with two assists.
National Rankings
• Wake Forest starts the season ranked No. 11 in the NFHCA Poll.
• All seven ACC field hockey programs are ranked in the Top 13 spots of the NFHCA Poll. The entire ACC has been ranked in 25 consecutive polls, a streak dating to October of 2012.
ACC Champions
• Wake Forest won their fourth ACC Tournament Championship in 2014 and Jennifer Averill was named the ACC Coach of the Year.
• The Demon Deacons finished the 2014 season with a 14-7 overall record and ended the year ranked No. 5
Next Time Out
• The Demon Deacons open their home schedule on Sept. 4 with a 4 p.m. match against Ohio State at Kentner Stadium.
• Wake Forest and Ohio State are tied 2-2 in the all-time series but have not faced off since 2011.
