Deacs Open Home Slate
Wake Forest hosts Ohio State for the 2015 home opener on Friday at Kentner Stadium.
The Demon Deacons will then host Missouri State on Sunday at noon.
Ohio State and Missouri State will face each other on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Wake Forest has won its home opener three of the last four years.
Last Time Out
Wake Forest split the opening weekend at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge hosted by Michigan.
The Deacs lost to No. 17 Iowa, 2-1 in overtime. Freshman Jule Grashoff scored the team's only goal and senior Valerie Dahmen made nine saves.
Wake Forest rebounded with a 3-0 win over No. 14 Michigan. Five different players tallied a point in the game. Damen made nine saves, all in the second half.
Scouting the opponents
Ohio State is 1-1 on the season with a season-opening win vs. Saint Louis and a setback against No. 7 Albany last weekend.
The all-time series between Wake Forest and Ohio State is tied 2-2. Ohio State has won the last two meetings in 2010 and 2011.
Missouri State opened the 2015 season at Louisville's Trager Stadium with neutral-site games against Indiana and Appalachian State, dropping both by 5-1 and 6-4 scores, respectively.
The Bears will play at Davidson on Friday before traveling to Winston-Salem.
This will be the first-ever meeting between Wake Forest and Missouri State.
Wake Forest in the ACC Preseason Poll
The Wake Forest field hockey team was picked to finish fifth in the ACC Preseason Poll for the second consecutive season.
Junior Emily Conroe was named to the Preseason All-ACC Team. In 2014 she started all 21 matches and scored three goals with two assists.
National Rankings
Wake Forest starts the season ranked No. 11 in the NFHCA Poll.
All seven ACC field hockey programs are ranked in the Top 13 spots of the NFHCA Poll. The entire ACC has been ranked in 25 consecutive polls, a streak dating to October of 2012.
ACC Champions
Wake Forest won their fourth ACC Tournament Championship in 2014 and Jennifer Averill was named the ACC Coach of the Year.
The Demon Deacons finished the 2014 season with a 14-7 overall record and ended the year ranked No. 5

The Demon Deacons begin conference play at No. 5 Duke on Sept. 11.
