WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest men's and women's cross country teams will begin their 2015 season Friday evening as they compete at the Elon Open. The meet will feature three teams (Wake Forest, Elon and High Point) and will start at 6 p.m. at the Elon Cross Country Course.

The Demon Deacon women will send nine athletes, mostly newcomers, to the 4K race. The men will have 13 athletes in action, a combination of veterans and newcomers, in the 6K race.

In the preseason poll of ACC coaches, released earlier this week, Wake Forest was picked to finish ninth on the women's side and 11th on the men's side.

The Demon Deacons will have the full squads in action for the first time on Sept. 12 when they travel to Greenville, S.C., for the Furman Cross Country Classic.
