CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Bryant Crawford scored a game-high 17 points as Wake Forest defeated the College of Charleston, 78-61, in the third-place game of the Charleston Classic Sunday evening.

The Demon Deacons (4-1), who finished the Charleston Classic with a 2-1 record, have now won four-straight non-conference road games dating back to last year with their victory over the Cougars (3-2), the tournament hosts.

Four players scored in double figures led by Crawford's 17. The sophomore was 7-of-12 from the field and added a game-best six assists to no turnovers.

John Collins continued his strong start to the season as he dropped 15 points and was 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Collins brought in five rebounds and was one of four Deacs to collect five rebounds on the night.

Austin Arians contributed 11 points in the game as the graduate transfer surpassed the 1,000-point total for his career. After spending his first three seasons at Milwaukee, Arians entered Sunday's contest with 991 career points.

Keyshawn Woods came off the bench to contribute 12 points, five rebounds and four assists in 30 minutes of action.

Wake Forest led 39-25 at the half but the Deacs' defense was called upon as the Cougars tried to climb back into the game in the second half. The College of Charleston trimmed the lead down to nine in the second half and had the game within 10 points on three separate occasions down the stretch, but the Demon Deacons answered each Cougar run.

After a 10-0 run by the Cougars cut Wake Forests' lead to 10 with 6:38 remaining, the Demon Deacons countered with a 12-1 run over 2:46 of game action to push the advantage to 21 before closing out the contest.

Doral Moore added three blocked shots in the contest as the Deacs limited the College of Charleston to just 33.3 percent shooting from the field (15-of-45).

Wake Forest returns home to face Coastal Carolina on Wednesday, Nov. 23. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. inside the LJVM Coliseum.
