
Deacs Conclude Play at Northrop-Grumman Regional Challenge

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. -- The Wake Forest women's golf team concluded play at its first tournament of the spring with Tuesday's final round of the Northrop-Grumman Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes Golf Club. The Demon Deacons shot 24-over on Tuesday to finish in 16th place at 91-over.
The event, which featured 10 of the top 20 teams in the nation, was won by Washington.
Freshman Jennifer Kupcho led the Deacs with a 2-over round of 73 on Tuesday, and finished T-45 at 17-over for the tournament. Sierra Sims finished T-56 at 20-over, finishing with a final round 77. Ines Laklalech had a 5-over final round 76 to finish T-65 at 23-over. Mariana Sims concluded with a round of 82 to finish at 32-over, while Vinh-Hop Ngo finished at 34-over after a final round 83.
The Demon Deacons will return to action at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, held Mar. 4-6 at Hilton Head Island, S.C.
