
Deacs Climb the Leaderboard at LSU Tiger Golf Classic

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Wake Forest women's golf team used a strong second round to move into sixth place at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic at The University Club. The Demon Deacons shot 10-over on Tuesday to move up four places on the leaderboard.
In a tournament that includes nine of the top 50 teams in the nation, Wake Forest was one of three teams to shoot below 300 on Monday, carding a team total of 298. It was a consistent effort from the Demon Deacons as two players shot 2-over rounds of 74 and the other three shot 3-over rounds of 75.
"The students played very consistently today and we had balanced scoring with two 74s and three 75s," said head coach Dianne Dailey. "This is where we can be everyday. Our ball striking, short games and course management was much improved. We are looking forward to a strong finish tomorrow."
Ines Laklalech shot a 2-over round of 74 and is T-6th on the individual leaderboard at 6-over through 36 holes. Sierra Sims also shot a 74 on Monday and is T-27th at 10-over for the tournament.
Jennifer Kupcho, Antonia Eberhard and Erica Herr all posted a score of 75 during the second round. Kupcho is T-14th for the tournament at 7-over, Eberhard is T-27th at 10-over and Herr is T-44th at 13-over.
The LSU Tiger Golf Classic concludes Tuesday at The University Club.
