
Womble Named an All-America Scholar

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest senior golfer Davis Womble was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar this week by the Golf Coaches Association of America. He was one of 212 Division I players nationally to receive the honor.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
A native of High Point, N.C., Womble graduated this spring with a degree in Finance. He was second on the team this season with a 71.87 stroke average as the Demon Deacons finished 23rd at the NCAA Championship. Womble had two top-5 and four top-10 finishes during the season, including a fourth-place individual finish at the ACC Championship. He was the low Deac at four of the team's eight tournaments this spring and was named to the All-ACC Academic Team for the fourth consecutive year.
