Grashoff Named to Preseason All-ACC Team

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest sophomore forward Jule Grashoff was named to the 2016 Preseason All-ACC Field Hockey Team as the conference announced its preseason team and poll on Tuesday. The Demon Deacons were selected fifth in the preseason poll of the league's coaches.
Grashoff led the team with 13 goals and was second on the team with 31 points last season, earning second-team All-ACC honors. A native of Bremen, Germany, she had two game-winning goals during her freshman season.
North Carolina was chosen as the preseason favorite in the preseason ACC poll, followed by Virginia, Syracuse, Duke, Wake Forest, Louisville and Boston College. All seven ACC school are ranked in the top 12 of the Penn Monto/NFHCA preseason pool, including the Demon Deacons at No. 7.
The Demon Deacons open the regular season on Saturday, Aug. 27 as they host Iowa in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Game time at Kentner Stadium is 11:30 a.m. Admission is free.
