WAKE FOREST TAKES FIRST ROAD TRIP
• Wake Forest travels to Columbus, Ohio for their first road trip of the season. The Deacs will be competing in the Buckeye Invitational with Ohio State, Ohio and Indiana, though will only compete against Ohio State and Indiana.
• The Deacs went 5-1 on the road last year with their only loss being the first game of the season to Iowa at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Deacs went 1-1 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge this season.
• Wake Forest dropped their first game to Iowa, 2-1. Jule Grashoff scored the lone goal for the Deacs.
• Goals form Jule Grashoff and Emily Conroe lifted the Deacs to a 2-0 victory over No. 10 Michigan in the second game.
SCOUTING THE BUCKEYES
• The Buckeyes are 0-2 entering this weekend's Invitational with both losses coming on the road to No. 14 Delaware, 5-2 and 6-3, respectively.
• Junior Maddy Humphrey netted two of the five Ohio State goals against Delaware. Humphrey was the Buckeye's leading scoring in 2015.
• Goalie Liz Tamburro has recorded nine saves in two games. Last season she tallied 134 saves in 19 games with a .761 save percentage.
SCOUTING THE HOOSIERS
• Indiana is 1-1 entering this weekend and coming off of a 3-2, overtime win against Ohio.
• Senior Kate Barber picked up her first career hat trick in the overtime victory. Barber recorded eight total goals last season.
• The Hoosiers have eight freshmen on the squad this season, including Kelsey Giese who enters as a two-time All-State selection and three-time Futures Elite and Junior Olympic squad member. Fellow freshman Sam Scire recorded the lone goal in the 5-1 loss to No. 12 Louisville in their season opener.
PRESEASON POLL/TEAM
• Sophomore forward Jule Grashoff was named to the Preseason All-ACC Team after leading the Demon Deacons with 13 goals as a freshman.
• Wake Forest was picked fifth in the preseason ACC poll of the league's coaches.
• The Demon Deacons are No. 7 in the preseason NFHCA poll as all seven ACC programs are ranked in the top 12 nationally.
