
Wake Forest Kicks Off 2017 at Virginia Tech Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field teams open 2017 this Friday and Saturday, Jan. 13 and 14, at the Virginia Tech Invitational in Blacksburg, Va.
Events will start at 5 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday.
In total, 35 Demon Deacon student-athletes will compete against 12 other schools. 21 women will compete in 12 events while 14 men will represent Wake forest in 10 events.
Last time out, the teams combined for six titles and 12 top-three finishes at the UNC-Greensboro Duals. Luke Annichiarico and Tesia Kempski won the men's and women's pole vault while Charlie Ionata and Alva Hicks claimed the weight throw titles. Max Adams took home the shot put while on the track side, Simon Holden took first in the mile.
Following this weekend, Wake Forest will head to Chapel Hill, N.C. for the Tobacco Road Multis on Jan. 18 and 19.
