CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The Wake Forest women's golf team concluded play Sunday with the final round of the Ruth's Chris Lady Tar Heel Invitational at North Carolina's Finley Golf Course. The Demon Deacons shot 4-under 284 during the third round to finish the tournament in sixth place at 2-under.
Three Demon Deacons finished in the top 15 of the individual leaderboard, highlighted by freshman Emilia Migliaccio finishing T-3rd at 10-under, her third top-10 in as many starts of her career. She shot a 5-under 67 during Sunday's round, her eighth round under par in three events this season.
Jennifer Kupcho finished T-6th at 9-under after posting a final-round 68. Siyun Liu was T-13th at 5-under following a final round 70.
"Emilia and Jennifer both had a chance to win today and played great," said head coach Dianne Dailey. "However, they came up just short at 10-under and 9-under, respectively. Swing had another strong showing with a top-15 finish at 5-under. We are still working on the last two spots and are making steady progress. We look forward to our final event of the fall in a few weeks."
The Demon Deacons conclude the fall portion of their schedule in early November with the Baylor-Texas Collegiate, held at Camp Campestre in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
