Chrysochos, Mansouri Advance at ITA All-American Championship

TULSA, Okla. – Petros Chrysochos and Skander Mansouri advanced to the Round of 16 at the ITA All-American Championships, as second round action concluded Friday (Oct. 6) afternoon.
Chrysochos, ranked third in the country and seeded third in the field, faced Michael Geerts of Arizona State. The junior earned an early break in the opening set before closing out a 6-4 decision. In the second set, the two would play to the tiebreaker, with Chrysochos prevailing, 7-6(4). In the quarterfinals, Chrysochos will face ACC foe Lucas Poullain, ranked 50th nationally.
Mansouri joined Chrysochos in the Round of 16 with a straight-sets victory over No. 30 Emil Reinberg. The senior cruised to a 6-1 victory in the opening set before holding on to take a 7-5 victory in the second set to punch his ticket into the next round of competition. He will face Gustav Hansson, a 9-16 seed and ranked 14th nationally.
Christian Seraphim's run came to an end as he fell to fourth-seeded and fifth-ranked William Blumberg, 6-3, 6-4.
In the consolation doubles draw, Mansouri and Seraphim fell, 3-6, 7-6(2), 12-10 to the Arizona State duo of Geerts and Ruehl.
Round of 16 and quarterfinal action will take place on Saturday, with the tournament concluding with the championship on Monday.
