Wake Forest claimed a series victory over Southern Cal, earning wins on Friday (15-5) and Sunday (18-5), and falling on Saturday (15-9).

Wake Forest Storylines
The Demon Deacons are coming off their first NCAA Tournament season in nine years, as they qualified for the College Station Regional a year ago and knocked off Minnesota in the opening game. Wake Forest earned three total wins in postseason play, also defeating Virginia and Duke at the ACC Championship.
Despite losing D1Baseball National Player of the Year Will Craig, a first-round pick of the Pirates, and All-American Nate Mondou, a 13th-round pick of the A's, Wake Forest does return all five of its regular starting pitchers, as well as five starting position players. Draftees Parker Dunshee (Cubs - 14th round) and Chris Farish (Indians - 31st round) elected to return to Wake Forest for the 2017 season. Dunshee, as well as outfielder Stuart Fairchild, earned Preseason All-America honors.
Gavin Sheets earned multiple weekly honors after finishing the week with a .588 average and 16 RBIs, hitting three homers Friday. He now leads the nation with 18 RBIs.
Opponent And Series History
Davidson is hitting the road for the first time this season after completing a weekend sweep. In a home tournament, the Wildcats defeated UMass Lowell (8-5), Lehigh (7-4) and Fairleigh Dickinson (5-2).
Wake Forest and Davidson met twice last year, with the Deacs claiming a pair of close games. Wake Forest won 7-4 in Winston-Salem and earned a come-from-behind 7-6 victory in the ninth inning on the road.
Looking Ahead
Wake Forest wraps up its nine-game homestand this weekend, welcoming Quinnipiac, Kent State and Radford to town.
