Eight Field Hockey Members Named to National Academic Squad

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Eight members of the Wake Forest field hockey team have been named to the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, the organization announced Wednesday, March 15.
Emily Adamson, Megan Anderson, Shannon Eby, Lindsay Graham, Jule Grashoff, Meghan Murphy, Nicola Pluta and Heather Wiley all earned the honor. Seniors Graham, Murphy and Wiley earn the recognition for the fourth time in their careers. Sophomores Adamson, Anderson and Grashoff also garnered the honor last season while Eby, a senior, and Pluta, a freshman, have earned the honor for the first time.
The National Academic Squad includes all student-athletes with a cumulative GPA or 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2016-17 academic year. The eight Demon Deacons join 63 other ACC honorees for the 2016 season, led by Louisville's 16 recipients.
Wake Forest finished the 2016 season with an 11-8 record and a first round win over No. 2 seed Syracuse in the ACC Tournament.
