• Wake Forest returns to Winston-Salem for its only three home games in a 13-game stretch, taking on Georgia Tech in an ACC series March 24-26.
Promotions
March 24 - The first 150 students receive a free tumbler cup. Also, kids can run the bases after the game.
March 25 - Waffle Night/Trading Card Release #2 - Delta Delta Delta will be hosting their annual waffle night to raise money for their philanthropy. Also the first 250 fans will receive the second pack of special edition 2017 Wake Forest Baseball trading cards.
March 26 - Bark in the Park - Bring your furry Deacon fan to the ballpark and participate in the Puppy Parade. All dogs are welcome! NOTE: You must sign a waiver stating that your dog's vaccinations from a licensed veterinarian are current. This waiver holds you (the owner) liable in the event of an incident. We recommend you contact your veterinarian regarding other vaccinations that may suit your dog's needs. All dogs must be leashed and licensed. For more information please call the Wake Forest Sports Marketing and Promotions Department at (336) 758-3255. Sunday is also dollar hot dog day, and there will be postgame autographs and catch on the field.
Last Time Out
• Wake Forest continued its midweek success, taking down Charlotte, 13-4.
• The game began at the Charlotte Knights' BB&T Ballpark on Tuesday night before being suspended with no score in the top of the third due to storms. Play concluded on Charlotte's campus on Wednesday night.
• Logan Harvey led the way offensively, finishing 4-for-4 with a grand slam, two doubles and five RBIs. Ben Breazeale added three hits, while Bruce Steel and Keegan Maronpot also went deep.
• Colin Peluse made the start and earned the win to improve to 2-0 with 2.0 hitless innings. Carter Bach, John McCarren and Chris Farish also had scoreless relief outings.
Wake Forest Storylines
• Following the season-opening trip to Houston, the Deacs were hitting just .194 as a team and had only three players hitting better than .215. In the 18 games since, Wake Forest is hitting .348 as a team, with 87 extra-base hits.
• That surge has increased the team average to an ACC-best .323, while Wake Forest leads the nation with 40 home runs. The Deacs also rank in the top 20 in slugging, runs, hits, doubles, average, walks and OBP. Five starters are hitting better than .335 - Ben Breazeale (.432), Jonathan Pryor (.394), Stuart Fairchild (.367), Johnny Aiello (.338) and Jake Mueller (.337).
Opponent And Series History
• Georgia Tech leads the all-time series over the Demon Deacons, 72-40-1.
• The Demon Deacons and Yellow Jackets are meeting for the first time since 2014. Wake Forest claimed 2-of-3 games in Atlanta, but Georgia Tech won the play-in game to the ACC Tournament.
• Georgia Tech started the year in the top 25 nationally, but has dropped out after falling in their first two ACC series to Miami and North Carolina. GT has three hitters above .350, including Joey Bart who's tied for the national lead with nine homers.
Looking Ahead
• Wake Forest hits the road for five straight and eight of the next nine, beginning with a March 28 game at App State.
