WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will host the 2019 National Field Hockey Championships at Kentner Stadium Nov. 22-24, 2019, the NCAA announced Tuesday, April 18.
The organization selected 613 host sites for preliminary rounds and finals of predetermined championships in Divisions I, II and III to be held from 2017-18 through 2020-21 after receiving more than 3,000 bid submissions from NCAA member schools.
The 2019 championships will mark the third time Wake Forest has played host to the event, also hosting in 1995 and 2006.
"Wake Forest is honored to host this prestigious event," said Wake Forest field hockey head coach Jennifer Averill. "Our first class facility and personnel will create a memorable experience for all participants and spectators."
Criteria for selecting the host sites included creating what will be an exceptional experience for the student-athletes, along with adherence to NCAA bid specifications, including optimal facilities, ease of travel to the location and ample lodging and adherence to NCAA principles, which include providing an atmosphere that is safe and respects the dignity of all attendees.
