Deacs Set For NCAA Tournament
• The Wake Forest women's tennis team will be making its 17th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, as the Demon Deacons open competition on Friday, May 12, against Texas.
• If the Deacs advance past the Longhorns, Wake Forest will take on the winner of South Carolina vs. North Florida for the right to advance to the Round of 16.
• The finals will be held at the University of Georgia in Athens.
Guerin Earns NCAA Singles Bid
• Senior Kimmy Guerin will be making her second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Women's Singles Championship, as she earned an at-large bid into the field.
• Guerin earned her first-ever bid into the event a season ago, becoming the first Deac since 2011 to appear in the tournament.
Climbing the ACC
• With a 7-7 record, the Demon Deacons finished the season tied for fifth in the final ACC standings.
• The fifth-place finish is the best finish in the league for the Deacs since a third-place finish in 2002.
Guerin Tabbed All-ACC
• For the third time in her career, Kimmy Guerin was named All-ACC, earning second team honors this year.
• The senior was named third team as a sophomore and second team as a junior a season ago. She was one of six players out of the 27 All-ACC honorees this season who had been voted All-ACC three times in their career.
Undefeated In February
• This season, the Deacs completed the entire month of February without dropping a single match. This is the first time the Demon Deacons have gone undefeated in February in recent history.
Deacs in the Rankings
• Kimmy Guerin is ranked the No. 60 player in the nation by the ITA. She opened the season ranked No. 33 in the country, the highest ranked Deacon since Martina Pavelec was No. 24 on March 29, 2011.
• Guerin and doubles partner Anna Ulyashchenko team up to form the No. 80 doubles team in the country.
