Field Hockey Program Welcomes Annabelle Hanson

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest field hockey coach Jennifer Averill welcomed 5-year-old Annabelle Hanson to the team on Thursday morning.
Hanson is battling Cystic fibrosis, a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. Annabelle came to the Demon Deacons through Team IMPACT, which Improves the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team.
From Belews Creek, North Carolina, Annabelle is a fighter who loves to run around outside and will not let Cystic fibrosis hold her back.
The field hockey team welcomed her on Thursday morning with a Letter of Commitment, along with team apparel that included a jersey.
