The Matchup
• The top-ranked Demon Deacons close out their three-game homestand on Tuesday at 7 p.m., playing host to UNCG on ACC Network Extra.
Last Time Out
• Wake Forest battled back from an early 1-0 deficit to defeat No. 15 Duke, 4-2, on Saturday.
• Four different Demon Deacons found the back of the net: Isaiah Parente, Omir Fernandez, Bruno Lapa and Machop Chol.
• Parente and Fernandez also added assists, as did Alistair Johnston and Logan Gdula.
• The victory increased Wake Forest's winning streak to 10 games, the second-longest to start the year in program history.
Quick Kicks
• Wake Forest was ranked No. 5 in the nation in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll and moved up to No. 1 in the first weekly poll. The Deacs have been ranked in the top five in 27 consecutive polls dating back to the middle of the 2016 season - 22 more weeks than any other program (Indiana/North Carolina - 5).
• Wake Forest has several long streaks alive. The team's ACC unbeaten streak is 23 games (dating back to Sept. 30, 2016), and the road unbeaten streak is 12 games (also since Sept. 30, 2016), including nine straight wins. Wake Forest is undefeated and untied in 2018.
• The Deacs are once again one of the top teams in the country. Wake Forest is one of just two teams in Division I to remain unbeaten and untied (Saint Mary's), and leads the country with 32 goals.
• Wake Forest has a lot of new faces after sending seven into the MLS ranks following the 2017 season. Still, the Deacs brought in the No. 2 recruiting class in the country, headlined by top-50 recruits Isaiah Parente, Kyle Holcomb, Koby Carr and Aristotle Zarris.
• Since the start of the Bobby Muuss era in 2015, Wake Forest has a 65-8-7 overall record. That win total is the most of any Division I program.
Opponent & Series History
• Wake Forest leads the all-time series against UNCG, 12-7-2, and has won six straight and 11 of the last 12. The teams haven't met since 2010, though.
• UNCG enters the game with a 4-5 overall record. Three of UNCG's four victories have come in overtime.
• The Deacs and Spartans have three common opponents so far. UNCG also defeated Presbyterian (1-0), but fell to Virginia Tech (2-0) and Davidson (1-0).
Up Next
• The Demon Deacons head to Syracuse to continue ACC play on Friday at 7 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
