THE MATCHUPS
• The ACC slate continues for Wake Forest as the Deacs return home to host Georgia Tech on Friday, Oct. 12 at 6:30 p.m., and Clemson on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m.
• Both matches will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra with Brian Rushing and Jeremy Price on the call.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Deacons dropped on the road to Notre Dame in four sets and No. 25 Louisville in three to move to 1-5 in ACC play.
• Sophomore Myca Mitchell led the effort for the Deacons with 23 kills on the weekend (3.29 k/s), while Caitlyn Della added 15 kills for a team-high .256 attack percentage.
QUICK HITS
• Head Coach Bill Ferguson returns for his third season at the helm of the program.
• The Demon Deacons return 14 players from last year's squad, led by seniors Hailey Brooke McFadden and Katie Moore, and welcome five freshmen to the club.
• Junior Caroline Rassenfoss is the team's returning kill leader as she tallied 271 kills last season.
• 2018 will mark the first season for Wake Forest Volleyball in the newly renovated Reynolds Gymnasium. Reynolds has been home for the Deacons since 1971. The team spent the previous two seasons in the LJVM Coliseum while the renovations were underway.
• Sophomores lead the way in three categories- Madeline Holt with 622 assists, Olivia Saunders with 60 total blocks and Caroline Kuhn with 15 service aces.
SCOUTING THE YELLOW JACKETS
• After a 9-0 start to the season, the Yellow Jackets enter Deacon territory at 12-7 overall and with a 1-5 mark in ACC play.
• Georgia Tech split the week with a 3-2 win over Clemson and a 3-0 loss against Virginia Tech.
• Offensively, freshman Mariana Brambilla and Mikaila Dowd pace the Yellow Jackets with 261 and 207 respective kills.
• Defensively, Brambilla also leads the squad with 220 digs and Kodie Comby paces the team with 64 total blocks.
• Georgia Tech ranks third in the ACC in digs (1104, 15.33 d/s).
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
• Clemson makes the trip to Winston-Salem 10-9 on the season and 1-5 in ACC play.
• The Tigers picked up their first conference win with a 3-0 sweep over Virginia Tech last weekend.
• Brooke Bailey leads the Tigers with 213 kills (2.96 k/s) and Torie Frederick paces the defense with 242 digs.
LOOKING AHEAD
• The Deacs will wrap its three match home stretch with a midweek match against Duke on Wednesday, Oct. 17.
• First serve is set for 6:30 p.m.
